This year we had a full set of 12 squads entering – mostly clubs with two teams. The competition was split into two sections – each running as a separate event - with the results being merged into a single order. There was a full day’s badminton - from 10.00 to 5.30 with the usual positive feedback from the players. As the table shows the overall winners were Kings A and they received the magnificent Bowness trophy.Faversham Big Hit
The Badminton Big Hit lands at Faversham. On Tuesday 14th September Faversham Badminton Club held the event and welcomed 12 new visitors to the club. We had a very busy night with 46 players over five courts; it’s great to see the club busy again. We had players coming back the following week so it’s a great way to recruit new members to the club.Junior Tournament - February 2020 - Results
We have just held another enjoyable event - although the entries were lower than last year. Thanks to all those who took part.
Herne Bay Juniors celebrate 50 years
Herne Bay Junior Badminton Club celebrated its 50th anniversary on Saturday 7 December. To celebrate, we held a UV (Ultra-violet) session. We turned the lights off and covered the courts, shuttles, racquets, nets, and of course the players in UV tape, lights, and body paint. UV cannons then lit everything up and the celebration and the games began. The event was attended by VIP Guests including: Sue Whetnall, Geoff Rofe, and Holly Williams.Inter-Club event 2019
Our end of season inter-club competition had an entry of 10 teams and the feedback was again very positive. We continue to learn about the handicapping and it seemed to work well this year. The final table shows the total raw points and those adjusted by the handicap with Wyndgate as the winners this year: Squad raw for raw against final for final against ratio Wyndgate 655 385 667 531 1.Inter-Regional 2019
The Inter-Regional events that we organise on behalf of KBL were successful once again with our local teams taking part in all the competitions. Full results are on the Kent website but in outline: Our senior team won Division 1 - congratulations to them - we haven’t managed that for quite some time. We also entered a second team which had some close games in Division 2. Our juniors performed well against strong opposition, only narrowly missing out on third place out of six in the under-15’s.2018/19 season winners

This annual event for local junior clubs was held at King Ethelbert’s, Westgate, on 25th November. Due to a misunderstanding there was one club short from the expected five so there were eight teams taking part from 4 clubs. Full results have been issued to the clubs involved. This is a summary showing the total points scored and the final positions in each group. Group 1 Ajax Herne Bay A For Against Ratio F/A Ajax x 241 241 368 0.Club Event 2018 – Report
With a bit of a struggle we just reached the ideal of 12 teams – until a late drop-out reduced this to 11 with no chance of filling any gap – a shame but these things happen. The clubs entering changed somewhat from last year with Invicta/Pilgrims being absent and The Kings and Apollo(C) entering. So we had a group of 6 teams and one of 5. A sub-group of the Committee sorted out handicaps for each player based on information from the clubs themselves and from our own knowledge – but these handicaps were and remain secret.2017/18 season winners
Many thanks to all the teams who entered this year, and congratulations to our divisional winners:
